Who are we?

The Canberra Brewers Club is one of Australia‘s friendliest and most successful amateur brewing organisations. The club aims to promote good brewing, good beer and good fellowship. This forum is full of both useful info and trivial nonsense; enjoy.

What do we do?

The club meets on the first Thursday of every month, at The Harmonie German Club 49 Jerrabomberra Avenue Narrabundah. We discuss aspects of brewing, run events like trivia nights and tastings, and freely sample both beers and advice. You‘re more than welcome to come along – the first meeting or two is on us and after that you‘ll be begging for us to take your $30 for a year‘s membership!

The club also publishes a monthly newsletter called The Ferm. It‘s chock–full of malty goodness and back issues are well worth a read.

Brewing Competitions

The club runs brewing competitions regularly based on different beer styles or other brewing goals. The calendar of comps is here. Entering comps gives brewers excellent feedback on their brewing skills. The best entries in the ACT annual comp qualify for the national competition – the Australian Amateur Brewing Championship. Interested in becoming a judge or steward? Just contact the Competition Secretary at compsec@canberrabrewers.org
