With 45 beers, 10 judges, three stewards, one-and-a-half days and a great venue, we judged a fantastic selection of beers for the Canberra Brewers Club Comp 2 on July 2 and 3. Over the course of the weekend, Canberra Brewers finest Scottish and American Ales, Lagers and a couple of RISs were on show. Club Comp 2 covered: American Pale Ale, American India Pale Ale and Imperial India Pale Ale; Premium American Lager, Munich Helles, Dortmunder Export, German Pilsner, Bohemian Pilsener, Classic American Pilsner; Vienna Lager, Oktoberfest, Munich Dunkel, Schwarzbier, Maibock/Helles Bock, Traditional Bock, Doppelbock; Scottish Light 60/- and Scottish Heavy 70/-; and, last but definitely not least, Russian Imperial Stout.

Club Competition 3 will be held late in August, with the ACT Championships planned for the weekend of 23 Sep 11, brought forward one week from that originally announce, so as to not clash with the long weekend (and to minimise the impact on those people who have a life).
Club Competition 3 will showcase Dark Ales [Scottish 80/, Irish Red Ale, Strong Scotch Ale, American Brown Ale, Northern English Brown Ale], Porters, Wheat Beers, Belgian Strong Ale, Strong Ale, and Others [Fruit Beer, Spiced Beer, Smoke/Wood Aged Beer] … so get brewing.
Medal certificates and feedback sheets will be available at the July club meeting coming up this week.
Cheers and beers,
Billy (Canberra Brewers Competition Secretary)

Good stuff.
